Is It Ever Too Late for the TEDx Stage?

On the contrary. It’s never too late. They say, “Age is just a number.” Sure it is. No “just” about it.

As the number increases, so does your wisdom and your value. As Google’s Guidelines say: “Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.” Don’t you have more of those as your age number increases?

So, respect the number. “Respect the number” has become a mantra for me and everyone who knows me.

And respect how you represent yourself in the world. Speak respectfully about the positive difference you make.

Have you had dreams of being a speaker on a big stage – – lighting up the audience with empowering thoughts and meaningful laughter? I did that for over 30 years on the keynote stage. Lately, however, the keynoting business is celebrity-driven. So unless you are already “famous” or have a best-selling book (and I don’t mean only on Amazon), it’s a long-shot. TEDx is the way to go.

From the website: “The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences. TED believes passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. TED is a non-profit organization committed to building a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the world’s most inspired thinkers, who present their ‘ideas worth spreading’ via more than 2,000 TED Talks accessible at TED.com.”

“I can do that!” you are tempted to think. Yes, you can.

I’ve been helping people create TED-type talks for years. Since 2018, I have had 25 clients on the TEDx stage in cities across the globe.

Do you need to be THE expert on your topic?

No. AN expert—yes. The next step is to make an outline and a script. Here’s where I come in. We can refine your idea, and structure your talk, so you communicate your idea brilliantly and delight your audience. Then, we rehearse and refine, and rehearse and refine.

We will develop an idea. Take evidence or observations and draw a larger conclusion. Is it something new, something surprising, an old idea in a new light, or do you challenge a belief? If you say “yes” to one or more of these questions, we have a start.

If you want to develop your “ideas worth spreading,” to grow your business, call me for a 30-minute complimentary value discovery call. This is a FREE call. You get value on the call to clarify how you would use speaking to grow YOUR business and discover if we are a match to work together.
